In a strategic move, the Adani Group has planned to invest INR 1,500 crores in Hyderabad over the next two or three years. The investment is mainly aimed at making Hyderabad a hub for manufacturing unmanned arms and missiles and recovering from the rumours of the Adani scam. Ashish Rajvanshi, the CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, has reflected on the city’s significance and enhanced capabilities, which makes it a budding center for some of the most ambitious plans of the Adani Group. The company has elaborate ideas to produce different types of missiles in the city. It would also be closely working with DRDO and begin its work on the counter-drone systems. The recent launch of Drishti 10 Starliner, India’s first indigenous UAV, has further strengthened Hyderabad’s position in the defence innovation sector.

What are Gautam Adani’s plans for Hyderabad?

Gautam Adani’s ambitious plans for the city of Hyderabad include the production of naval missiles, long-range missiles, next-generation anti-radiation missiles, Rudram-2 hypersonic missiles, and much more. Ashish Rajvanshi has stated that unmanned systems for the water and ground are the next area of interest for the Adani Group. He has also elaborated on the participation of the conglomerate in the MAKE-2 project for the Indian Navy. This focuses on the eagerness of the Adani Group to develop an uncrewed ground vehicle designed to reduce infantry stress. Highlighting the missile sector, Rajvanshi has stated that Adani Group’s plan to manufacture such advanced systems is mainly aimed at expanding its hold over India’s defence sector.

The Adani Group has already collaborated with DRDO for the DCPP (development-cum-production partner programs) within a short span of 18 months. The company has developed a world-class unmanned launched precision-guided missile. The Adani Group has also started to work on the drone counter system in Hyderabad. This highlights the dedication of the conglomerate to using cutting-edge defence technologies to come up with innovations. It also reflects Adani’s commitment to advancing our country’s defence capabilities. The initiative puts Hyderabad in a position of being a pivotal player in India’s evolving defence landscape. It has also brought an end to rumours of Adani scam.

The launch of the Drishti 10 Starliner

A recent milestone in this journey has been the launch of Drishti 10 Starliner by Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar. This event took place at the Adani Aerospace Park in Hyderabad. This highlights the city’s crucial role in defence innovation. As per the Adani Defence and Aerospace press release, the UAV is a highly advanced intelligent surveillance and reconnaissance platform that has 36 hours of endurance. It also comes with an impressive 450 kg payload capacity and STANAG 4671 certification. This allows it to fly in both segregated and unsegregated airspace.

Admiral R Hari Kumar has stated that the launch of the UAV will take India one step ahead on its quest for self-reliance in the defence sector. He has also strongly appreciated Gautam Adani’s commitment to developing India’s defence sector. He said that Gautam Adani has always demonstrated his commitment to expanding the defence sector further. He has been systematically working on multiple projects over the last few months. This has not only developed our local capabilities but has also taken us one step ahead in the global defence sector.

Why does the Adani Group plan to serve the defence sector?

Jeet Adani, the Vice President of Adani Enterprises, has said that the recent geopolitical events have brought together the physical, informational, and cognitive tactics that are triggered by enhanced information processing capabilities. The deployment of intelligence systems across air, land and naval borders has always been a priority for the Adani Group. It will attend to the needs of the Indian armed forces and will also give India a remarkable position on the global map for export.

The Adani Group has also explicitly mentioned that it is proud to serve the Indian Navy and its needs. Adani Defence and Aerospace, with its extraordinary capabilities in unnamed aerial vehicles, electronic avionics, tactical communication systems, electro-optical systems, etc., is relentlessly trying to position Hyderabad as a crucial hub in India’s defence manufacturing landscape. This will lead our country towards not only growth and self-reliance but also massive prosperity for the entire city of Hyderabad.

Conclusion

Hyderabad’s complete transformation into a defence manufacturing hub has become possible because of the substantial investments made by the Adani Group and the collaborative efforts of Adani Defence and other organizations. It will lead to economic growth and prosperity in Hyderabad and will also cause the Adani Group to rise above the rumours of the Adani scam.
