The couple are yet to share their official wedding pictures on social media. An inside video from their wedding went viral in which the couple can be seen performing wedding rituals in Manipuri tradition. Randeep Hooda can be seen dressed as a traditional Manipuri groom while bride Lin can be seen wearing gold jewellery with her wedding attire. In the video we can see, the groom and the bride seated in the middle while guests can be seen making offerings on a plate, placed in front of them. The wedding was performed in traditional Meitei rituals which featured the bride circling in dignified movement around a seated groom for seven times and the bride and groom garlanding each other amidst cheers from the guests, reported PTI.

In a traditional Manipuri wedding, the groom’s attire consists of a white cotton dhoti, a kurta, and a kokyet (a turban). Randeep was also seen donning a white shawl.

The bride wears a potloi or polloi, a cylindrical skirt made from thick fabric and hard bamboo, which is often adorned with velvet and satin cloth and adorned with jewels and glitter.

Prior to their wedding, the couple sought blessings from the Ipudhou Marjing Khubamlen temple in Imphal and paid a visit to the relief camps in violence-torn Manipur to pray for their future and peace for their state.

The couple announced the news of their wedding on 25 November. The wedding will be followed by a grand reception in Mumbai for the newlyweds’ industry friends. Lin re-shared pictures from her pre-wedding festivities shared by her friends and families on her Instagram stories.

Randeep’s Thought about Manipuri culture:

In a poetic nod to the Mahabharata, Randeep Hooda, in the wedding announcement, mentioned, “Taking a leaf out of Mahabharata where Arjun married Manipur Warrior Princess Chitrangada, we are getting married with the blessings from our families and friends.” A source close to the couple hinted at a mythological twist to their ceremony, drawing inspiration from the ancient epic. Further, in a recent statement, Randeep told ANI, that his wedding with Lin will witness a cultural exchange, as he is going to follow all the Manipuri traditions. He said, “I felt that it’s only respectful to come and marry in the bride’s tradition. Though I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that’s something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life parthner’s culture. That’s why I am here”

Their Wedding Looks:

Meanwhile, Lin looked stunning in Manipuri attire, decked up in a white and pink saree paired with a black blouse. She completed her look with gorgeous gold jewelery. She was surrounded by other close relatives, who helped her arrive in the heavy attire. Lin smiled at the media, as she walked towards the wedding venue.

During an interaction with a media person, Randeep talked about his love story with Lin Laishram and how he is excited to experience Manipuri tradition.
He said, “Feels very good. I felt that it’s only respectful to come and marry in the bride’s tradition. However, I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that’s something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life partner’s culture. That’s why I am here.”
Wedding Theme Randeep added, “I hope I don’t make any mistakes. And we have been talking about their culture, Manipuri culture and all that for a long time. I am really looking forward to it and hope that all goes well. I am praying for our happy future and lots of kids and lots of abundance. Yes, it’s east meets west. It’s like a traditional or cultural exchange. We have been friends for a very long time. We met when we were in the theatres. Since then, we have had a great friendship, which we are now making into a family.”
