The case of a merchant navy officer murder outlines horrific crime details which occurred in the Uttar Pradesh city of Meerut. Muskaan Rastogi who is the wife of Saurabh Rajput started planning his murder during November while purchasing knives and sedatives as part of her preparations.
The former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput came back to India on February 24 to celebrate the birthdays for his wife and his daughter when he was 29 years old. The conspirators targeted the merchant navy officer one week after his return by putting his murdered body into a sealed cement drum.
The authorities suspect that Muskaan Rastogi received assistance from her passionate lover Sahil Shukla who reached 25 years old.
Police investigations showed that the couple spent time both selecting murder tools and sedatives and searching for locations to dispose of the body. A 2019 meeting between the two protagonists occurred in a school WhatsApp group leading to an affair according to news agency PTI.
Saturn and his girlfriend Muskaan began an affair which pushed her to abandon Saurabh in favor of marrying Sahil. Police sources disclosed that Muskaan together with Sahil viewed Saurabh as someone who stood in their romantic way forward therefore accepting to murder him.
Muskaan Rastogi along with co-conspirators developed the scheme to kill her husband Saurabh Rajput.
The murder scheme for Saurabh Rajput originated from his wife Muskaan Rastogi by having her boyfriend Sahil Shukla believe his mother spoke with him through Snapchat after her death as reported by NDTV.
She deceived her boyfriend that his mother had died to come back as his grandma and sneak messages through Snapchat to manipulate him into assisting her murder Saurabh.
In February Saurabh Rajput had planned to come back to India while the two worked to prepare for carrying out their scheme.
During the purchase Muskaan explained to the shopkeeper that she needed the knives with extended blades for cutting chicken. A source who spoke to PTI indicated Muskaan presented herself as highly worried while obtaining prohibited sedatives from the medicinal drug store.
Not one but two murder attempts
The duo’s first attempt at the murder on February 25 failed. One day after his return Saurabh ate food which contained a sleeping agent but his deep sleep did not result in losing consciousness.
Once again Muskaan added a drug to her husband’s food since March 4 which made him lose consciousness. Together with Sahil she executed the murder when Saurabh became unconscious. The duo took apart the victim’s body following their assault attempt against him to hide their criminal actions. Muskaan disappeared her young daughter with her grandmother before committing the murder with Sahil.
Initially the pair planned to THROW the body parts away at a remote spot yet they CHOSE to place all pieces inside a big blue drum before filling it with cement and sand according to Meerut SP Ayush Vikram Singh’s PTI interview.
Police investigators have pointed to drugs as an aspect of their inquiry because Sahil allegedly introduced Muskaan to Gaanja use.
The couple traveled to Himachal Pradesh for the purpose of destroying evidence about the murder before they returned to Meerut on March 17. The day following the family complaint brought a police detention of both individuals based on suspicion.
Police arrested the suspects after uncovering the blue drum holding Saurabh’s dead body parts at their residence.
The court declined both suspects bail and placed them under 14 days of judicial detention. The couple appeared in court on Wednesday where numerous lawyers confronted them and tried to strike Sahil while attempting to retrieve his clothing from his body.
Verbal disturbances combined with an escalating battle for security of the arrested persons resulted in police difficulties with maintaining both conditions.
The parents of Muskan Rastogi want their daughter to receive the death sentence.
When their daughter Muskaan became involved in murder Kavita and Pramod Rastogi displayed both shock and disbelief.
Rastogi family members maintain Muskan and Saurabh experienced no mutual happiness while they direct all responsibility toward Sahil who allegedly introduced Muskan to drugs.
The father of Muskan became the most assertive in his rejection by demanding execution for both his daughter and her partner.
For Muskan Saurabh destroyed his occupational life and abandoned his household. Her actions resulted in taking his life. Muskan lost all her rights to exist as a living person. The father declared to PTI that such a person should not live on Earth.
