In an exclusive affidavit on October 20, 2023, businessman Mr. Darshan Hiranandani claimed Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra gave her parliament login ID to frame questions about the Adani group and the Modi and Adani Relation, which she felt was the “only way” to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Hiranandani admitted to a number of the BJP charges against Ms. Moitra in the three-page document, a copy of which is with NDTV.

However, it fails to disclose the major claim against him: She submitted over 50 parliamentary questions on behalf of the Hiranandani Group (one of Mumbai’s Top Real Estate Builders) to outwit its commercial competitor, the Adani Group. According to the document, the truth was the opposite: She sought assistance in politically targeting PM Modi and using the Adani group in a smear campaign against him.

Mahua Moitra, a member of the Trinamool Congress, was compelled to sign the papers

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has responded to businessman Darshan Hiranandani’s declaration, claiming that he was “forced to sign a white paper.” Moitra questioned the legitimacy of the affidavit that Hiranandani allegedly filed to the Parliament Ethics Committee in a two-page statement, stating that it is “neither on official letterhead nor notarized” and that the contents of the letter are “a joke.” The affidavit is not on official letterhead and is not notarized.”

Why would one of India’s most respected/educated businesspeople sign a letter like this on white paper unless a pistol was placed on his head? According to a news release from Mahua. “The letter’s contents are a joke. It was written by a half-wit in the PMO who works as a creative writer in the BJP’s IT department. It sings odes to Modi and Gautam Adani while linking every one of their opponents to Mahua Moitra and the alleged corruption —an attempt to cast doubt on the Modi and Adani Relation.

Moitra said that Hiranandani was “compelled” to sign the letter. Moitra stated that the PMO put a pistol to Darshan and his father’s heads and told them 20 minutes to sign the letter handed to them. They were faced with the closure of all of their enterprises. They were promised that they would be finished, that the CBI would raid them, and that all government business and PSU bank financing would be halted immediately.”The PMO supplied the draft of this letter, and he was forced to sign it. She said that it was instantly leaked to the press.

Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra gave Hiranandani her Parliament login and password

THE CASH-FOR-QUERY allegations against Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took a serious turn on October 19, 2023, when Darshan Hiranandani, CEO of the Hiranandani Group, claimed in an affidavit to the Lok Sabha’s Ethics Committee that she provided Hiranandani with her Parliament login and password so that he could “post the questions” directly “on her behalf when required.”

Darshan Hiranandani, who lives in Dubai, said in a three-page affidavit submitted to the committee and released to the press by the Hiranandani Group’s corporate communication team that Moitra believed the only way to attack Mr. Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) was to attack Mr. Gautam Adani and his group who are contemporaries from the same state of Gujarat. And Hiranandani was forced to raise a query about the Modi and Adani Relation.

Nishikant Dubey of the BJP urged that Ms Moitra be suspended immediately

The BJP’s Nishikant Dubey urged Ms Moitra’s immediate suspension, stating that she “took bribes to ask questions” in parliament from Darshan Hiranandani to damage Modi and Adani Relation by directing inquiries based on the Adani-Modi relationship. In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Mr Dubey accused Ms Moitra of breach of parliamentary privilege, contempt of the House, and criminal conspiracy. The Speaker has sent his complaint to the Parliament’s Ethics Committee.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the junior Union minister for Information Technology, mentioned the topic, indicating Mr Hiranandani’s participation.

Mahua Moitra obtained unverified details from numerous source

Hiranandani further claimed that Mahua Moitra used the TMC MP’s login credentials to investigate the Adani group. She also got unsubstantiated information from multiple individuals, some of whom claimed to be former Adani Group personnel. He was given some details, based on which he continued to write and submit questions using her Parliamentary login on Modi and Adani Relation. Hiranandani then says that the TMC MP also sought favours and gifts from him.

“She made frequent demands of me and asked for various favours, and the demands included gifting her expensive luxury items… travel expenses, holidays, etc” according to what he said in his statement. This affidavit was filed at the same time that the Ethics Committee summoned BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Advocate Jain Anant Dehadrai to give oral testimony on the accusations of ‘Cash for Query’ levelled by the BJP MP.
